FAQ

The questions a Bangkok guest actually asks.

From Siam Green

Is cannabis legal in Thailand?

Cannabis flower is legal for medical use only. It is a controlled herb under Thai Ministry of Public Health rules, and every purchase needs a valid medical-cannabis prescription (form ภ.ท.33 / "PT 33") issued by a licensed practitioner after an in-branch consultation. We work within these rules at every branch.

What else should I know?

Public consumption is prohibited and can lead to fines. Keep your flower in its original labelled packaging together with your prescription.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Cash, credit and debit cards, contactless payments such as Apple Pay, and Alipay are all accepted at every branch. You are not limited to cash here.

Do tourists need a prescription too?

Yes. Everyone needs a valid ภ.ท.33 prescription from a licensed practitioner in Thailand, visitors included. Your passport works as your ID.

How long does the consultation take?

It is short. A licensed practitioner assesses you on site and, if cannabis is appropriate for you, issues the prescription during the same visit.

How long is the prescription valid?

For up to a 30-day supply.

Can I use a prescription or medical card from my home country?

No. Only a prescription from a licensed practitioner in Thailand is valid here.

Do I need to book ahead?

No. Walk in during opening hours at any branch and the team will guide you.

How does Phuket compare with the rest of Thailand?

The statute is identical everywhere. What differs by province is how many shops are still trading and how closely they are watched, and Phuket is under closer watch than most. Siam Green operates no branch in Phuket, and its licensed branches are in Bangkok and on Koh Samui.

Can I smoke cannabis on a Phuket beach?

No. Cannabis smoke is treated as a nuisance under the Public Health Act, and ignoring an official order to stop carries up to three months in prison, a fine of up to twenty-five thousand baht, or both. Beaches are public, and consumption is legal in private only.

How many Siam Green branches are there?

Five. Four are in Bangkok (Phrom Phong, Nana, Silom and Chinatown) and one is in Chaweng on Koh Samui.

Where is the Koh Samui branch?

At 200/8 Chaweng Beach Road, Chaweng, Koh Samui 84320, opposite Central Festival Samui.

Can tourists buy cannabis here?

Yes, in person at a licensed branch, with a prescription from a licensed practitioner (Thai rules since 26 June 2025). Nothing is sold online or delivered. Message us on LINE or WhatsApp with questions, or visit a branch.

Do I need a prescription to look around?

No. Anyone can read about the shop, its branches and how prescriptions work. Buying happens in person, on a prescription, for up to 30 days' supply.

How do payments work?

You pay at the counter, in the ways the branch accepts. Nothing is ordered or paid for online.

Can you deliver to my hotel or condo?

No. Cannabis can only be sold in person at a licensed shop, so there is no delivery. Every branch page has directions and opening hours.
